Fingleton, Tommy. Park, Stradbally, Co. Laois (R32 R7N3). Died September 14th 2024. Peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Son of the late Michael and Elizabeth Fingleton.

Predeceased by his sisters Lila, Mary and Bridget and his infant brother William. Deeply regretted by his loving family, brothers Jimmy, Michael, Anthony and Paddy, sisters Kit, Nelly Heery, and Anne Sheahan, brothers in law Lorcan and Pat, sisters in law Phil, Eileen and Mary, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, relatives, neighbours and friends

Reposing at his residence from 2pm on Monday, September 16th with Rosary at 8pm. Funeral arriving to the Church of the Sacred Heart Stradbally on Friday September 20th for 11am Requiem Mass. Interment will follow in Ratheniska cemetery.

Sydney Lewis
Summerhill, Portlaoise, Laois

Sydney Lewis, Summerhill Portlaoise Co.Laois. Died September 14th 2024. Peacefully after a brief illness surrounded by his loving family. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Cathy, daughter Lisanne and her husband Joe, sons Shane, Jason and his partner Aine, Leon and his partner Lauren and Ryan, grandchildren, Aimee, Abigail, Noah, Luke, Ollie, Lilyanne and Fionn, sister, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Keegan’s Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 18th, from 6:30pm with prayers at 8pm. Funeral arriving to St Peter’s Church, Portlaoise on Thursday, September 19th, for 3pm funeral service. Interment afterwards in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Portlaoise.

Breda Egan (née Coveney)
Meelick, Rosenallis, Laois

The death has occurred of Mrs Breda Egan (née Coveney) Meelick, Rosenallis, Co. Laois. Predeceased by her husband Joe. Breda, peacefully at home after a short illness. Beloved mother of Tony, Lauraine and Fergal. Breda will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her children, daughters-in-law Deridre and Alison, nine grandchildren whom she adored, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at her home on Wednesday, 18th September, from 3pm. Rosary at 5pm followed by removal to St Brigid’s Church, Rosenallis arriving at 7pm that evening. Requiem Mass on Thursday, 19th September, at 11am followed by burial in St. Brigid’s Cemetery, Rosenallis.

Aidan Sinnott
Gort Ná Nore, Abbeyleix, Laois / Mountrath, Laois

Aidan Sinnott, Gort Ná Nore, Abbeyleix, Co. Laois and late of Lower Sconce, Mountrath, Co. Laois. September 14th. 2024, unexpectedly at his home, son of the late Andy.

Deeply regretted by his loving mother Sheila, brother of Sharon, Nigel, Audrey, Andrew, Lorraine and Tracy, uncle of Evan and Emma, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Aidan will Repose in Private, burial will take place on Wednesday (18th. Sept.) at 12 noon in St. Fintan’s Cemetery Mountrath.

Thomas (Tom) Lawless
Newpark, Portlaoise, Co Laois

The passing has occurred of Thomas (Tom) Lawless. Beloved husband of Kathleen, and much loved father of Siobhán, Thomas, Barry, Fiona, Caroline, Séamus, and Cori-Anne.

Sadly missed by his loving family; sons in law, daughters in law, his children’s partners, his eleven grandchildren, brothers, sisters, brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and friends..

Arriving at St. Peter and Paul’s Church Portlaoise, on Tuesday 17th September, for 5.30pm prayers.

Requiem mass on Wednesday 18th September at 12 noon, in St. Peter and Paul’s Church, followed by internment in St. Peter and Paul’s Cemetery Portlaoise.

William (Billy) Peake
O’Moore Street, Mountmellick, Laois

William (Billy) Peake (O’ Moore Street) and formerly Graigue , Mountmellick, passed away on the 15th of September 2024 peacefully at home in the loving care of his wife Maureen and daughters Fiona and Nadine.

Predeceased by his siblings Pat, Tony, Joe, Sean and Rita. Sadly missed by his son-in-law Ollie, grand children Eoghan, Aaron, Cillian, Tadgh and Cliodhna. Brothers Dominic and Brendan, sisters Celia and Clare, brothers and sisters-in-law, neighbours and friends.

Reposing Moloneys Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6pm. Recital of The Rosary at 8pm. Requiem Mass on Wednesday at 11am in St. Joseph’s Church Mountmellick. Burial after in St. Brigid’s Cemetery Rosenallis.

House private. Family flowers only. Funeral mass can be viewed live on the parish webcam.
