Sixth place for Nicole Turner in Paralympic swimming butterfly final

Nicole Turner has finished sixth in the S6-Butterfly Paralympic final this evening.

The Portarlington swimmer won silver in this event four years ago in Tokyo.

She reached the final by finishing third in her heat this morning.

Nicole’s time of 38.59 was slower than the 36.30 she swam three years ago.

If she had matched that time, she would have been able to claim silver again behind Jiang of China.

This was Nicole’s second Paralympic final of the Paris games to take part in.

The S6 50-metre freestyle took place last Thursday and Turner also finished sixth.

This race brings Nicole’s journey in the pool to an end in the Paralympics.
