Former Leeds United and Republic of Ireland full back Ian Harte was the special guest for Kolbe Special School fundraiser earlier this week.
The event raised €2,500 for the school, with Harte posing for some amazing pictures.
The event saw members of Laois Republic of Ireland Soccer Supporters Club and member of Laois Leeds having a meal with the former player.
Harte boasts an illustrious career spanning two decades, playing across England and Spain.
He was part of the Leeds United team that reached the semi-finals of the Champions League in 2001, playing 17 games and scoring three goals before being knocked out by reigning LaLiga champions Valencia.
After Leeds he moved to Spanish side, Levante where he spent three years before joining up with former international Roy Keane in Sunderland.
Harte played every game of the 2002 World Cup qualifying campaign and played a big part in the finals.
The event, which took place in Stapo’s DeBruns at Humes Bar in Portlaoise, was capped off with some great prize and presentations.
MC for the evening was Will O’Callaghan, renowned presenter from Off The Ball and Midlands 103.
