Award winning Laois farmer set to take on epic cycle challenge from Donegal to Cork

Brendan Guinan, caretaker and founder of multi-award-winning Fiorbhia Farm in Boghlone, Portlaoise, is about to embark on an epic cycle challenge.

Mr Guinan will be joined on the venture by Colman Power of Colman Power Organic Fitness.

Together, the pair will attempt to travel the length of Ireland.

Cycling from Malin Head to Mizen Head, the route starts in Donegal on 24 August and finish in Cork on Saturday, August 31.

The trip involves stopping at a number of regenerative farms en route to highlight the great work that is being done.

This will also give an opportunity to encourage the community to support local small businesses, cut out the air miles and gain the advantage of eating chemical free, nutrient dense foods straight from the farmer.

“We will also highlight the benefits of eating healthy foods, and exercise and how both can improve our overall physical and mental health,” organisers said.

“There will be talks at each venue and food to sample from each farm.

“We are stopping in county Donegal, Sligo, Galway, Tipperary, Laois, and Cork.”

Tickets for these events can be purchased on Eventbrite.
