Formerly of Bracklone Street, Portarlington County Laois. Peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Tallaght University Hospital. Loving wife of Willie and dear mother of Aoibheann, Niamh, Orlagh and Eimear. Deeply regretted by her loving brothers and sisters Tom, Joyce, Jacqueline and Dermot, grandchildren Conor, Enda, Maeve, Garla , Evie, Tommy, Clodagh and Rien, sons-in-law Stephen, Philip, Darragh and Kevin, good friend Tony, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

The family would like to thank you for your help and understanding at this sad and difficult time.

Mary Wallis (née Gaynor), Stillbrook, Mountrath, and formerly Portlaoise, Co. Laois. Died 20th August 2024, peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family. Sadly missed by her loving and devoted husband John, and dear mother to Patricia (Pat) and Denise. Deeply regretted by her husband, daughters, grandchildren Abbie, Jade, Robyn and Conor, dear sister Julie, son-in-law Donie, sister-in-law Eileen, niece Helen, grandnephew Shay, godchild Bernie Hamm, extended family and a large circle of friends.

Reposing at her home in Stillbrook (eircode R32 H9W6) on Wednesday evening (August 21st) from 6.0clock, with Rosary at 8.0’clock. Reposing at Burke’s Funeral Home, Mountrath on Thursday evening (August 22nd) from 6.0’clock, concluding with Rosary at 8.0’clock. Removal on Friday morning to St Fintan’s Church, Mountrath, for Requiem Mass at 9.30 a.m., followed by Cremation in Shannon Crematorium, Co. Clare (eircode V14PV30) at 12.00 noon.

Fr. Peter Paul Daly O.M.I
Inchicore, Dublin/Ballybrophy, Laois/Cork

Daly, Fr. Peter Paul O.M.I. (Oblate Community, House of Retreat, Inchicore, Dublin 8 & Castlequarter, Ballybrophy, Portlaoise, Co. Laois) August 20th, 2024, in his 93rd year, in the loving care of the Palliative Care Staff, St. James’s Hospital.

Beloved son of the late Martin and Sarah, predeceased by his sisters Kay (Dennehy) Cork, Peg (Coogan) Castlecomer, brothers Martin (Castlequarter) Pat (Wexford). Deeply regretted by his brothers Sean (Cork), Michael (Clare) and Fr. Joe OMI, Inchicore, close family, his Oblate Community, staff of the House of Retreat, and many friends.

Reposing at the Community Chapel, House of Retreat, Inchicore on Thursday (August 22nd) from 6.00pm with prayers at 8.00pm. Funeral Mass on Friday (August 23rd) at 12.00 noon in the Church of Mary Immaculate (Oblates), Inchicore, followed by burial to the Community Cemetery.

Pat (Paddy) Delaney, late of Harrow, London, and Ballycahill, Thurles, Co. Tipperary, and formerly of Kyledellig, Clough, Co. Laois. Died 23rd July 2024. Deeply regretted by his wife Geraldine, sisters Mary, Anne, Agnes, Sadie, and Helen, brothers Jim, Timmy and Martin, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and his many friends in Ireland and U.K.

Reposing of Ashes in Burke’s Funeral Home Mountrath on Wednesday evening (August 21st) from 5.0’clock with Prayers at 7.0’clock. Funeral Mass in St. Canice’s Church, Borris-in-Ossory on Thursday (August 22nd) at 12 noon, followed by Private Burial.

Maureen Brennan (née Coleman)
Jacob Street, Kilkenny City, Kilkenny/Portarlington, Laois

Maureen, in her 96th year, passed away on 18th August 2024, unexpectedly, at St. Luke’s Hospital. Predeceased by her beloved husband Kevin, sister Christina and brothers Tony and Eamonn. Much loved mother of Jimmy, Tony, Paul, Deirdre, Brian, Regina and the late infant Noel. Maureen will be dearly missed by all her family, son-in-law Anthony, daughters-in-law Julie and Fiona, grandchildren Jane, Shane, Darragh, Eimhin, Odhran and Aoibhe, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, kind neighbours and friends.

Reposing in Johnston’s Funeral Home, John’s Green, Kilkenny (R95XE00) on Tuesday (20th August) from 5pm to 7pm with Rosary and Vigil Prayers at 6.30pm. Removal from her home on Wednesday morning to St. Patrick’s Church for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. Funeral afterwards to St. Kieran’s Cemetery.

Graigavine, Piltown, Kilkenny/Ballyfin, Laois/Waterford/Tipperary

Violet Bowers (nee Cole) Graigavine, Piltown, Co. Kilkenny and formerly of Ballyfin, Co. Laois.

Violet passed away peacefully on 18th August 2024 after a long illness, at Dungarvan Community Hospital.

Deeply regretted by her loving husband Hew, her children David and Nicola, her beloved granddaughter Emma, daughter in law Anna, son in law Tom, sisters Sheila and Frances, brother Hughie and her nieces, nephews and friends.

Reposing at Walsh’s Funeral Home, Carrick on Suir, Co. Tipperary, E32 EP84 on Tuesday 20th August from 5.00 pm to 7.00 pm.

Funeral Service on Wednesday 21st August at 2.00 pm in St. Paul’s Church, Piltown, Co. Kilkenny, E32 CP27 with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only please. Donations if desired to St. Vincent’s Unit, Dungarvan Community Hospital. Donation box will be present at Funeral and church.
