The top scorers so far after first two rounds of football championships

The fixtures for round 3 of the Senior and Intermediate Football Championships are now known.

As the third round approaches we have compiled the top scorers from the top the Intermediate and Senior football championships.

Veterans like Paul Cahillane and fresher faces such as Cathal Lee have been amongst the high scorers.

Senior Championship

Top Scoring Club

After annihilating in the winners round Portlaoise maintained their position at top spot with 8-36 (60 points).

Emo are well behind at second with 4-27 (39 points) and are narrowly ahead of Ballyroan on 2-32 (38 points).

Stradbally are the grades lowest scoring team, amassing a pitiful score of 1-14 in their first two games.

They will be hoping for greater effciency in attack in the Senior ‘B’ competition.

Intermediate Football Championship

Top Scoring Club

Crettyard are currently the top scoring team in the Intermediate Championship and it looks like it will stay that way now that Evan O’Carroll is firing on all cylinders.

He scored 2-8 from play as his team eased past Arles Kilcruise and earned a spot in the semifinal.

Despite having the Championships top scorer in Damien McCaul, Annanough are the lowest scoring team in this grade so far.

Besides McCaul, the team have only managed two points leaving Annanough with a modest tally of 3-12.
