Carlow Town, Carlow/Crettyard, Laois/Crettyard, Kilkenny

Pat (Boxcar) Fennelly of Montgomery St., Carlow and formerly of 5 Doonane Rd, Crettyard, Co Laois, passed away on August 16th, 2024, at Naas General Hospital, Co Kildare.

Beloved father of Laura and much loved brother of Jody, Martin, David, Declan, Marie, Ann and Linda.

He will be sadly missed by his loving daughter, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-laws, aunts, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing in Carpenter Bros Funeral Home, Graiguecullen, on Sunday, August 18th, from 4pm, concluding with Prayers at 7pm that evening. Funeral Mass on Monday at 2pm in St Abban’s Church, Doonane, Co Laois followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

James Maher

Kyledellig House, Rathdowney, Laois, formerly of Killoran, Moyne, Thurles

15th August 2024, after a short illness surrounded by his family. Deeply regretted by his wife Josephine, daughters Aylish, Patricia, Michelle and Angela, his son James, sons in law Michael Grace, Darren Hogan and Ray Drennan, partners Peter Butler and Róisín Troy, grandchildren, cousins Josephine Cuddihy, Maureen Moloney and John Ryan, neighbours and friends.

Reposing in his residence this Sunday evening from 4 PM to 8 PM. Requiem Mass on Monday morning at 11 AM in St. Canice’s Church, Clough, followed by interment in Bordwell Cemetery, Ballacolla.

Sam Touhey
Portarlington, Laois/Dublin

TOUHEY, SAM, 13th August 2024, late of Portarlington, Co. Laois, formerly Dublin, unexpectedly at home. He will be forever remembered by his sons, James, Adam, and their mother Mary, his parents Jane Touhey and Jim Murray, also Peter Barry, Jacqueline, his half siblings and step siblings, Daniel, Killian, Sara, Sean, David, Niamh and Sarah. He will be held in memory by the extended Murray, Touhey, Barry, Lynch and Rattigan families, his friends and the special neighbours in Laois and Dublin.

There will be a gathering for Remembering Sam at Newlands Cross Crematorium at 3.00pm, Tuesday 20th August. All enquiries to Larry Massey Funeral Directors, Rathfarnham, on (01)406-1000.

Patrick (Podge) Hyland, The Glebe, Coolrain, Portlaoise, Co. Laois. Died 15th August 2024, at the Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise, surrounded by his loving family.

Sadly missed by his loving wife Mary (née Mulhall), and dear father to Matthew, Brian, Catherine, Declan, Ger and Caroline, Deeply regretted by his wife, sons, daughters, grandchildren, brothers Joe, Brendan, Séan and Colm, sisters Chris, Rita and Imelda, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Burke’s Funeral Home Mountrath on Sunday evening (August 18th) from 6.0’clock, concluding with Rosary at 8.0’clock. Removal on Monday morning (August 19th) to St. Fergal’s Church Camross for Funeral Mass at 11.0’clock, followed by Burial in the adjoining Cemetery.

Anthony (Tony) Dunne St Brigids Place. Portlaoise. August 15th 2024 Peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his wife Nancy and granddaughter Keva. Dearly loved father to Sandra, Anne, Agnes, Anthony, Gregory, Janice, Derval, Donal and Natalie. Cherished grandfather and great- grandfather.

Deeply regretted by his partner Josephine, sisters Annette Rafter, and Theresa Brennan, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, nephews, nieces, neighbours and friends. Former colleagues at St Fintans Hosp. Portlaoise.

Reposing at Keegans Funeral home on Friday evening from 6.30 pm until 8 pm. Removal from his residence on Saturday morning to arrive at SS Peter and Pauls Church for 12 noon requiem Mass. Interment will follow in SS Peter and Pauls Cemetery Portlaoise. House private please.
