Winner crowned as LaoisToday QuizCast makes first Electric Picnic appearance

The winner of the first ever LaoisToday QuizCast live from Electric Picnic has been crowned.

LaoisToday made our debut in the Ah, Hear tent in Mindfield on Friday afternoon.

It was a proud occasion for LaoisToday to be on stage during the iconic festival.

The final was another epic encounter with Courtwood’s Brian Hogan retaining his title.

This was a straight final in a packed Ah, Hear tent and we also want to thank everyone who turned up.

Annanough’s Sean Hennessy finished as the runner up in a fine first showing.

While the Clonad duo of Murt Norton and Colin Delaney finished third and fourth respectively.

The LaoisToday QuizCast originally began last year with 16 contestants battling it out last year.

Initials rounds were held on zoom with four people advancing to the final – Brian Hogan, Murt Norton, Colin Delaney and Jack Scully.

All four were invited to attend again at the Electric Picnic but Scully was unavailable so a wildcard playoff took place.

Annanough’s Sean Hennessy came through that and battled it out with Hogan, Norton and Delaney.

The LaoisToday QuizCast is due to return one again later this year.

For those who weren’t in the tent yesterday, we will have a Podcast version of the quiz available to listen to next week.
