In Pictures: First look inside the Electric Picnic site ahead of 2024 festival

Electric Picnic 2024 is less than three days away and members of the media were treated to a first look at the site today.

75,000 people will begin descending upon Stradbally from Thursday evening.

With the festival itself beginning on Friday where headliners include Noah Kahan, Calvin Harris and Kylie Minogue.

Ourselves here in LaoisToday will be performing on Friday with our QuizCast in the Ah Hear tent in Mindfield from 2.40pm.

Ahead of all of that, we sent our own Steven Miller, accompanied by Paul Dargan, into Stradbally Hall for a first look.

There is a final flurry of activity in the forests and fields of Stradbally this week as it is transformed into the magical metropolis that is Electric Picnic.

The lads began at Green Crafts. Over the weekend this holistic, earthy haven within the Main Arena will be home to Ireland’s best craft makers lead small, friendly, drop-by workshops, where the focus is on natural, sustainable, craft traditions and learning new skills.

They then headed to Trailer Park, Theater of Food and Mindfield.

In the latter, they met Dermot Whelan ahead of his Mind Full Podcast on the Ah, Hear Podcast Stage this weekend.

He was joined by former president Mary McAleese who will take to the Leviathan Stage with her co-host Mary Kennedy for their Changing Times podcast this weekend.

Next stop was the brand new Smirnoff Stage and then they headed to meet Festival Director Melvin Benn who explained how the Main Stage is powered completely by renewable energy.

The lads were then treated to a performance on the Main Stage by Hermitage Green before getting fed in Kinara Kitchen.
