Theatre of Food returns to Electric Picnic for the sixteenth time this year, with Michelin star chefs, fish and chips experts, and toasted sandwich champions.
The event is the apex of the culinary calendar, that also offers the chance for festivalgoers to demystify wine, drink in the history of beer, mix it up with the best cocktail makers around – or join the NoLo revolution with Ireland’s premium alcohol-free options.
Get ready for a taste of the action as the Theatre of Food features a host of Ireland’s culinary extraordinaires, cooking and exhibiting across three stages, celebrating all things food, barbecue, and drinks.
And Sunday morning’s feel-great Theatre of Food Brunch will return once more, this year in partnership with Aldi and raising money for Barnardos.
In 2024, Theatre of Food welcomes Trisha Lewis and Aldi back to the main stage. Ireland’s busiest foodie, Marcus O’Laoire will be joined on stage to match recipes with records with Kevin O’Donnell.
Michelin-starred chef JP McMahon will be cooking up some Irish classics alongside Graham Herterich aka the Cupcake Bloke, and TV chef Erica Drum will host Chimac from Dublin in a Cluck-off, a fried chicken battle for the ages.

Little Picnic
Little Picnic is also set to feature once again at Electric Picnic 2024, presented by the team behind KALEIDOSCOPE – Ireland’s Family-friendly music and arts festival.
Little Picnic is a colourful and enchanting area of Electric Picnic designed specifically with families in mind; bursting with creative, educational and inspirational workshops, sports, wellness, and is all round heaps of fun for the whole family.
Little Picnic is open to anyone attending Electric Picnic with children, on the back lawn of Stradbally Estate from 2pm to 7pm on Friday, and from 11am to 7pm on Saturday and Sunday.
If you don’t have a Family Camping wristband, Little Picnic wristbands are available to pick up onsite.
Kids Disco with Will Softly will have funky classics to the latest hits, there’s a song for everyone to shake, twist, and twirl to.
The Ballymore Eustace Brass Band will introduce families to the fantastic world of brass instruments.
There will be tie dye workshop with Lollipop Apparel, Storytelling with Johnny Magory, Family Yoga, Laughter Yoga, and Ukulele Workshops.
School Fitness Ireland will have loads of fun equipment for use all day such as wobble boards, gymnastics beams, soccer balls and jumping games.
The Gaiety School of Acting will hold a workshop exploring the magical songs of Disney’s Frozen! This immersive experience invites young performers to sing, act, and dance to their favourite Frozen hits.
All of this and so much more will be available for all families at Electric Picnic 2024.
