Suddenly at his residence. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Anne, sons Bernard, James, Michael, Phillip, Patrick and Tony, daughters MaryEllen, Teresa, Annmarie and Sharon, brothers, sisters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
May He Rest In Peace. Reposing at Maher’s Chapel of Rest, Portarlington on Sunday afternoon from 2:30pm until 4:30pm. Removal afterwards (travelling via his residence and O ‘Moore Street) arriving St Joseph’s Church, Mountmellick at 6pm. Requiem Mass on Monday at 11am. Funeral afterwards to St Joseph’s Cemetery, Mountmellick.

Elizabeth (Betty) Walsh (née Doran)
Errill, Laois
Elizabeth (Betty) Walsh (née Doran), Walsh’s shop, Errill village, Co. Laois, August 9th. 2024, peacefully in the loving care of management and staff at St. Teresa’s nursing home Thurles surrounded by her family. Predeceased by her parents, husband Brendan and brother Ted.
Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her family, daughters Aisling and Nicola, son-in-law Paul, grandchildren Brenna, Cillian and Rosa, Brendan’s son Adrian, his wife Sandra and their children Alexander and Alison, sisters Mary and Kathleen, brother Jim, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.
Reposing at O’Sullivans funeral home Rathdowney (Eircode R32 NY24) on Sunday evening from 5 o’clock pausing for prayers at 7 o’clock. Removal on Monday morning to Our Lady Queen of the Universe Church, Errill, arriving for Requiem Mass at 11 o’clock. Interment afterwards in Bealady Cemetery.
Robert Bowe
Ironmills, Ballinakill, Laois, R32X6H3/Portlaoise, Laois
Robert died suddenly at his residence. Formerly of Marian Avenue, Portlaoise. Employee of Irish Rail. Predeceased by his father Kevin. Deeply regretted by his heartbroken wife Jean, daughters Kayleigh and Rhona, mother Marie, brothers Kevin, Paul and Kenneth, sisters Suzanne and Sandra, uncles, aunts, mother in law, father in law, brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Reposing at his residence from 4oc on Saturday until 8oc. Reposing on Sunday from 3oc with Rosary at 8oc. Funeral Mass on Monday at 12oc in St.Brigid’s Church, Ballinakill which can be viewed on the link http://www.ballinakillknockparish.com. Burial afterwards in St.Brigid’s Cemetery Ballinakill. James (Jimmy) Kelly

The death has occurred of James (Jimmy) Kelly, 7 Woodview, Stradbally, Co. Laois. Passed away unexpectedly on 7th August 2024 at The Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise, surrounded by his loving family.
Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his children Caillúm, Tiernan and Fae, his dad John and mother Ann, sisters Aishling and Janice, brother John, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and his many friends.
Reposing at his home on Saturday from 4pm with Recital of the Rosary at 8pm. Requiem Mass on Sunday at 1pm in the Sacred Heart Church, Stradbally. Interment to follow in Oakvale Cemetery, Stradbally.
Donal Whelan
Crettyard, Laois
Donal Whelan, Doonane, Crettyard, Co Laois passed away peacefully at Waterford University Hospital on Wednesday 7th August 2024. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Brigid, much loved father of Keith, Clodagh, Colin, Patrice and Daniel, grandchildren Finn, Odhrán, Shay and Oisín, sons-in-law Alan and Buds, daughter-in-law Jenny, his brothers and sisters Luke, Alice, John Joe, Eileen, Margaret, Phil and Sarah, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces.
Predeceased by his brothers Pat, Jim, Michael, John and sister Nan.
Donal will repose at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Athy (R14 NX80) on Saturday, 10th August, from 4pm until the conclusion of the Rosary at 6pm.
Arriving at St. Mary’s Church, Mayo, Crettyard (R93 HY94) for Requiem Mass at 11am on Sunday, 11th August. A private cremation will take place on Monday, 12th August. Family flowers only please, donations, if desired, to Irish Cancer Society. HERE
