Ballyfin v Killeshin
Laois SFC Round 2 Qualifier in O’Moore Park at 7.30pm
It is a case of win or bust in O’Moore Park this evening as Ballyfin and Killeshin will battle it out.
These last met in 2019 where it took two games to separate them.
But that was in the SFC semi final and their fortunes have both fallen considerably since.
Killeshin made the quarter final last year but that was the best they had done since 2019 and a Round 1 defeat to Courtwood was more in keeping with recent form.
Ballyfin have struggled similarly and were poor in their loss to Arles-Killeen two weeks ago.
This will be a close one but maybe Killeshin’s potential firepower might prove the difference.
Arles-Kilcruise v Crettyard
Laois IFC Round 2 in Annanough at 7.30pm
A chance to move straight into the IFC semi finals is the prize as Arles-Kilcruise and Crettyard clash in Annanough this evening.
These two South-Laois clubs know each other extremely well as this will be their fifth championship meeting in six years.
Arles-Kilcruise won in 2019, 2021 and 2022 but Crettyard knocked them out in a quarter final last year.
Kilcruise toughed it out in Round 1 against Timahoe while Crettyard edged a high scoring battle with Portlaoise.
Evan O’Carroll missed that game but is due back for this one and that could be the difference.
Laois JFC Round 3
There was a big game in Group A last night as Graiguecullen defeated St Joseph’s to move top.
Group B is on this evening with the clash between Kilcavan and Barrowhouse taking top billing.
Whoever wins this will take control of the group and be on course to top it.
The Rock host O’Dempsey’s and will be favourites to pick up a second win.
While Camross will take on The Heath with the visitors favourites to claim a second win.
