Kathleen Downey (née Beere)
23 The Glebe, Monasterevin, Kildare/Portlaoise, Laois

The passing has occurred of Kathleen Downey, formerly of Clonkeen, Portlaoise, Co. Laois.

Pre deceased by her husband Paddy and son Séamus. Much loved mother of Eileen, Declan, Grainne, Padraig and Joseph. Sadly missed by her loving family; daughters in law Margaret, Therese, Anne and Kathryn.

Her grandchildren Emma, Ryan, Jennifer, Conor, Séan, Hannah, Rachel, Blaithin, Ciara, Kevin and David, her great-grandson Paddy, her brother Joe, and sister Nelly (of Pennsylvania, USA), sisters in law, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, friends and neighbours.

Reposing at the Chapel of Rest, Monasterevin on Friday, 26th July, from 4pm to 7.30pm, with Rosary Recital at 7.30pm. Requiem mass on Saturday, 27th, at 11am in St. Peter and Paul’s Church, Monasterevin, with internment afterwards in St. Evin’s Cemetery Monasterevin.

Patrick (Paddy) Dunphy
Cullohill Mountain, Cullohill, Laois, R32 V226

Patrick (Paddy) Dunphy, Cullohill Mountain, Cullohill, Co. Laois, July 23rd 2024, peacefully at home in loving care of his heartbroken family in his 92nd year.

Predeceased by his brothers Liam, Jim, Mick, John and Kieran, sisters Sheila, Mary, Kathleen, Nancy and Agnes.

Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Breeda, sons and daughters Sheila, Liam, Ann-Marie, Martin, Una and Patricia, brother Rev. Canon Laurence Dunphy Urlingford, his seventeen dearly loved grandchildren, daughters-in-law Vera and Andrea, sons-in-law Dan, Roger and Murt, cherished nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law Kathleen, Mary, Marette and Annette, brother-in-law Emmet, extended family, kind neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at his residence on Friday July 26th. from 3 o’clock until 8 o’clock. Removal on Saturday morning to St. Tighearnach’s Church, Cullohill arriving for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Mary (Kitty) O’Halloran (née Fingleton)
Jigginstown, formerly of Main Street, Naas, Kildare/Stradbally, Laois

Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family in the exceptional care of the staff at Naas General Hospital. Beloved wife of the late Michael and much-loved mother of Helen, David and Raymond.

Mary will be very sadly missed by her loving children, grandchildren Michael and Kathryn, son-in-law Noel, Raymond’s partner Máire, brother Paddy, sister-in-law Gráinne, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at the family home on Friday 26th July from 5pm to 7pm with Rosary Prayers at 6:30pm. (House private outside these times please).

Funeral on Saturday 27th July with Requiem Mass at 10am in Church of Our Lady and St. David, Naas, followed by burial at St Corban’s Cemetery, Naas.

Anne Clooney
Lower Boley, Abbeyleix, Laois

Beloved daughter of the late James and Eileen Clooney. Passed away peacefully after a short illness, Anne will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her loving family. sisters: Catherine (Lynch), Bernadette (O’ Connor), Geraldine (Joyce), Patricia (Poe), Rosemary (Power), Gemma (Delaney), brothers William, Fint and John, brothers-in-law Eamon, Billy, Martin, Ross, Johnny and Joe. sisters-in-law, Barbara, Patricia and Linda, nieces and nephews Catriona, Michelle, Sarah, James, Rachel, Emma, Lisa, Jamie, Evan, Dale, Emmie, Jack, Katie and grandnephew Arlo, aunts and uncles, cousins, neighbours and a very large circle of friends.

Reposing at her residence on Thursday evening from 4pm. with prayers at 8pm. Removal to St. Brigid’s Church, Shanahoe for 11am. Requiem Mass on Friday.

Interment afterwards in St. Brigid’s Cemetery, Shanahoe. Condolences can be left on the link below.

Patrick (Paddy) Conville
4 Henry St., Graiguecullen, Carlow/Graiguecullen, Laois

Patrick (Paddy) Conville of 4 Henry St., Graiguecullen and formerly of Little Barrack St., Carlow, passed away peacefully on July 21st, 2024 at St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny.

Beloved husband of the late Teresa, much loved father of Phyllis, Mary, Patricia, Martin, Peter, Noel, Therese, Aíne, Patrick and Olivia, much loved son of the late Murta and Mary (Little Barrack St.) and brother of the late Mary, Julia and Kathleen.

He will be sadly missed by his loving daughters, sons, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, brother Owen, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

His family would like to thank all the various people who’ve helped him over the years, especially Deirdre his care worker, the staff and volunteers at St Fiacc’s House who helped him live independently and the staff at St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny, who provided so much care for him in his final days.
