Seven projects in Laois have been granted funding to support migration integration projects.
The projects in Laois are based in Portlaoise, Portarlington and Mountrath.
The news was confirmed by Laois TD Sean Fleming.
He said: “Over the last few years many communities across Ireland have played a vital role in supporting those who have come and made their lives here.
“I am confident that this fund will help support those efforts here in Co. Laois.”
These funds will help support those efforts here in Co. Laois, the funds are:
- Dignity Partnership – Unity in Diversity – €5,000
- Laois Africa Support group interculture day – €5,000
- Laois intergration network (LIN) – €4,000
- Laois Leisure Portlaoise – Physical activity intergration project – €4,080
- Intergration of males into the Portarlington community – €5,000
- Mountrath Youth Theatre – Creative Connection: Celebrating diversity through creativity – €4,600
- Music Generation Laois – Music Generation Laois Community Choir – €5,000.
These funds will provide much needed ammentities to Portlaoise, Portarlington, Mountrath and the surrounding areas.
