On Sunday, August 4, Clonaslee High Nelly Club is hosting their annual summer fundraising event in aid of St. Manman’s Church Roof Restoration Project.
This day filled with fun promises to be extremely memorable for the club.
At 1 p.m., registration for a 10K High Nelly cycle commences in the Square, Clonaslee, before the cyclists take off at 2 p.m.
Speaking ahead of the event, club secretary, Tom McRedmond said: “We have planned the day to ensure there is something for everyone, and a most enjoyable day out will be had in support of a great cause.
“We are encouraging everyone to join in.”
Club members will have a wide selection of vintage bicycles available to use on the day. Only those over 16 are permitted to participate in the cycle. €20 per entrant.
Following this an auction with a number of exciting and interesting lots will be held at 4pm, with a cake sale filled with tasty treats.
Live music will then kick off at Hickeys Pub at 6 p.m.
A statement on behalf of Clonaslee High Nelly Club’s committee read:
“This is a particularly special fundraiser for us as it coincides with the fifth anniversary of our club.
“We always strive to give back to our local community and are delighted to utilise this opportunity to fundraise for St. Manman’s Church Roof Restoration Project.
“It promises to be our best yet! We look forward to welcoming familiar and new faces on Sunday, August 4”.
