Applegreen transforms its Midway Service Area in Portlaoise with €3 million upgrade

Applegreen, one of Ireland’s leading roadside hospitality retailers, has reopened its Midway service area in Portlaoise, which is located at exit 17 on the M7 (also accessible from the N77 and R423), following a €3 million investment.

Midway will now feature an M&S Food store within a store outlet as part of Applegreen’s exclusive partnership with the renowned UK retailer.

This will offer the best M&S including fresh fruit and salads, Irish sandwiches, convenient lunch and dinner options, and a selection of other iconic M&S favourites, such as Percy Pig sweets, M&S cookies, and Colin the Caterpillar cakes.

This will be the first time that M&S Food products have been available in Co Laois.

Applegreen is focussed on delivering the best roadside experience for customers on their journey and aside from an extensive food offer.

The newly revamped location will also have a new Braeburn Coffee Café, a Bakewell deli, as well as Burger King, Chopstix, and Subway restaurants.

Midway will also feature restaurant style seating, a newly enhanced public space, and upgraded toilet facilities. A new driver exercise zone will also be installed at the site.

In addition the redeveloped Applegreen at Midway will provide a fully operational service-station forecourt for customers to relax and replenish as they enjoy their roadside journey.

Applegreen’s €3 million investment in the Midway location redevelopment underscores the Irish company’s ongoing commitment to provide quality products and services to its customers on the go.

Applegreen Ireland Managing Director Fiona Matthews said: “We are delighted to reopen our Midway location following a significant investment to enhance the facility’s customer offer.

“The refreshed service area also offers an inclusive space to cater to all customer needs, whether it’s a quick pit-stop to pick up a dinner on the journey home, or a relaxing and enjoyable spot for customers to break their journey.

“We look forward to welcoming visitors from all corners of the country as they stop in to take a break and enjoy their journey with us.”

Applegreen Midway is located at Junction 17 on the M7, Portlaoise. The facility will be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
