Laois’s five-star historic country house hotel, Ballyfin Demesne, has been named the Number 1 Resort Hotel in Ireland and the UK at the 2024 Travel and Leisure ‘World’s Best Awards‘.
The award is in recognition of Ballyfin’s “commitment to providing exceptional service, breath-taking surroundings, and an unparalleled guest experience.”
American-based travel magazine, Travel and Leisure, present their World’s Best Awards as an annual recognition of excellence in the travel industry.
The Awards showcase the top hotels, resorts, destinations, and airlines in the world ranked by the most passionate and discerning travellers.
These awards serve as a trusted source for inspiration and guidance as travellers make plans to set out on trips around the globe.

Ballyfin has finished as runner-up in the last two years, losing out in 2023 to Gleneagles in Scotland, and in 2022 to Ashford Castle in Mayo.
