The Laois senior footballers will face Down in the Tailteann Cup final on July 13.
This has been confirmed after Down defeated Sligo following a dramatic semi final that went to extra time in Croke Park.
Many Laois fans were back home by the time Sligo and Down concluded their mammoth affair.
Laois faced Down in the semi final last year and lost heavily so this will provide a shot a redemption on the biggest stage.
The Tailteann Cup final will take place on Saturday, July 13.
This is the weekend of the All-Ireland football semi finals so it is likely that the Laois match will be before one of these.
Brian Byrne was Laois’s hero as his two goals helped them reach the Tailteann Cup final for the first time ever.
Justin McNulty’s charges were three points down with 15 minutes to play but goals from Kevin Swayne and a second for Brian Byrne, helped them turn things around and win by five.
