Local cousins’ lemonade stand at Cemetery Sunday helps raise money for The Friends of Portlaoise Hospital

Six young cousins from Laois have come together for the second year in a row in a marvellous display of community spirit and youthful initiative.

Seán, Róise, and Cathal Tynan, along with their cousins, John-Joe and Mary Connolly, and Dean Winters set up their lemonade stand on Cemetery Sunday in Portlaoise to raise money for the Friends of Portlaoise Hospital

The enterprising cousins raised over €200 in a fantastic display of community spirit from both the family and their delighted customers.

The lemonade attracted a steady stream of supporters before and after mass, all eager to contribute to a worthy cause while enjoying a refreshing drink.

Their enthusiasm and commitment helped raise much-needed funds.

The funds from this endeavour will go directly to local charity, The Friends, who are dedicated to enhancing patients’ comforts at the Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise.

“It is great to see the youth getting involved,” said Áine Reams, treasurer of the Friends of Portlaoise Hospital.

“We are incredibly grateful for the remarkable efforts of Seán, Róise, Dean, Cathal, John-Joe and Mary, this is their second year holding a lemonade stand for the Friends of Portlaoise Hospital.

“The €230 that they raised will significantly impact our ability to continue our mission and this donation will be used in the Paediatric Unit of the MRHP.”
