Laois senior hurling team to face Offaly in Joe McDonagh Cup final named

Laois senior hurling manager Willie Maher has named his team to face Offaly in the Joe McDonagh Cup final on Saturday.

The first nine players are as expected from Enda Rowland in goal up to Paddy Purcell in midfield.

With injury to Mark Dowling, that created a spot in the forwards and that has gone to James Duggan of The Harps.

Manager Maher has opted to leave the experienced trio of Willie Dunphy, Ross King and Stephen Maher – who has just returned from injury – on the bench.

As Rosenallis’ Fiachra C-Fennell comes into the half forward line alongside captain Aaron Dunphy and David Dooley.

Offaly manager Johnny Kelly has included four of the county’s U-20s who won the All-Ireland title last weekend in his starting line up.

Adam Screeney, Dan Bourke, Donal Shirley and Cathal King are all named to start.
