Carl Adams

Carl Christian John Adams passed away on May 30th 2024. Deeply mourned by his beloved wife Brenda and children Troy, Timothy, Megan and Matthew.
The Thanksgiving Service will take place on the 5th of June at Laois Bible Church, Epworth Hall in Abbelyeix at 10am. A private cremation will take place and the house will remain private on Tuesday the 4th and Wednesday the 5th of June.
Carl is sadly missed but so lovingly remembered by his family, friends, neighbours and extended family.
Valerie Townsend (née Byrne)
Linkardstown, Tinryland, Carlow/Graiguecullen, Laois
Valerie Townsend (née Byrne)of “Ashlee”, Linkardstown, Tinryland and formerly of Pearse Rd., Graiguecullen, Carlow, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on June 3th, 2024, at her home.
Beloved wife of Eddie, much loved mother of Cillian, Darragh, Colin and Emmet, cherished sister of Marian, Patricia, Niall, Ronan and the late baby Irene Angela and adored daughter of the late John and Eileen.
She will be sadly missed by her loving husband, sons, her son’s partners Kerry, Emma, Natasha and Rachel, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
Reposing at Carpenter Bros Funeral Home, Shamrock Sq, (Eircode R93 C863) on Wednesday, June 5th, from 4pm concluding with Prayers at 7pm that evening. Funeral Mass on Thursday at 11am in St Clare’s Church, Graiguecullen, followed by burial in St Mary’s Cemetery, Carlow.

Catherine Farrell, Grallow Wood, Abbeyleix Co. Laois June 3rd 2024. Peacefully surrounded by her loving family. After a short illness borne with dignity and great courage. Dearly loved wife to Rob and adored mother to her heartbroken son Sam, daughter to Rose and the late Christy Paisley (Portlaoise), sister to Noelle Phelan.

Joe Cunneen. Rathleague, Co. Laois and formerly Cork City. June 2nd 2024. Peacefully surrounded by his loving family in the tender care of the dedicated staff at the Beacon Hospital.
Beloved husband to Margaret and loving father to David, Stephen and Mary and father-in-law to Clodagh and Gillian. Cherished grandfather to Rebecca, Adam, Zoe, Amy, Eilbhe, Eilís, Aaron, Sean and Julianne. Sadly missed by his loving family. His brother Frank and his wife Joan. Brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law. Nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
Reposing at the family home in Rathleague (R32K8KX) from 3 pm until 8 pm on Wednesday evening, with rosary at 7.30 pm. Removal on Thursday to arrive at SS Peter and Paul’s Church for 12 noon Requiem Mass. Interment will follow in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery Portlaoise. Car parking kindly provided by Portlaoise GAA club.

Formerly of Millbrook Manor Portarlington County Laois. Lorna passed away on Sunday 2nd June 2024 peacefully after a short illness borne with great courage and dignity surrounded by her loving family, partner and cousin.
Lorna will be deeply missed by her heartbroken dad Edwin, mum Susan, sister Yvona, partner Jer, cousin and special friend Amy, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.

Formerly of Leeds. Peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Tallaght Hospital. Predeceased by her husband John and daughter Marie. Sadly missed by her loving family Gerry, Anne and Seán, the extended family, neighbours and friends.
Breda Higgins (née O’Donoghue)

Higgins (née O’Donoghue), Breda. Late of Kinvara Avenue, Navan Road and Borris Road Portlaoise, June 1st 2024, peacefully surrounded by her family in the wonderful care of the staff in Glenaulin Nursing Home, Chapelizod.
Breda, wife of the late P.J, predeceased by her parents Richard and Brigid, brothers Eddie, Richard and Larry. Sadly missed by her loving sons Paul and Eugene, daughter Dolores. Daughters in law Lucy and Cindy, son in law Pat. Her adored grandchildren Aoife, Katie, Jennifer, Ornagh, Patrick, Martin, Claire and Alanna. Great grand-daughter Bella, her sister Mercedes, brother in law John, nieces and nephews, extended family relatives and friends.

Tyrone Goodier of 75 Tommy Murphy Park, Graiguecullen, Carlow and formerly of Winsford, England, passed away peacefully, on May 31st, 2024, at St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny.
Beloved husband of Honoria, much loved father of Melissa, Len and Freddie and adored grandfather of Taylor and Freya.
He will be sadly missed by his loving sons, daughter, father, grandchildren, son-in-law Jason, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, friends and especially his brother-in-law John.
Reposing at Carpenter Bros Funeral Home, Graigiuecullen from 5pm on Monday, June 3rd, concluding with Prayers at 7pm that evening. Removal from there on Tuesday at 9.45am to St Clare’s Church, Graiguecullen, arriving for Funeral Mass at 10am. Funeral afterwards to Mount Jerome Crematorium, Dublin, arriving for Cremation Service at 12.45pm.

Una Donoghue (nee Byrne), formerly Hawthorn Drive, Portlaoise and Collins Park, Beaumont, Dublin 9, died June 2nd 2024, peacefully at the Residence Nursing Home, Portlaoise. Predeceased by her husband Peter.
Sadly missed by her son Cormac, his partner Sinead and her adored grandchildren Molly and Paudie, daughter Ursula, her husband Eamon and grandsons Joseph and David, brother Justin, sister Bernie, extended family and friends.
Reposing at Keegan’s Funeral Home, Portlaoise, on Monday, June 3rd, from 6pm to 7pm. Interment will take place on Tuesday at 12 noon in St Mary Cemetery, Edenderry, Co. Offaly.

Mary Williams (née Cleary), Knockiel, Rathdowney, Co. Laois, May 30th. 2024, peacefully at the Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise in her 90th. year.
Predeceased by her husband Timmy, sisters Peg, Dinah and Betty, niece Clare and grand niece Anna.
Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her twin sister Jane, her many much adored nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, extended family and her close neighbours and friends.
Reposing at her residence Knockiel, Rathdowney (Eircode R32 E7W0) on Monday evening from 4 o’clock pausing for prayers at 7.30. Removal on Tuesday morning to the Church of the Most Holy Trinity, Rathdowney arriving for Requiem mass at 12 noon. Interment afterwards in Bealady Cemetery Rathdowney.

Singleton (née Cogley), Margaret, (Late of Portarlington, Co. Laois). Peacefully, surrounded by her family. Beloved mother to Glen and Gavin. Sadly missed by her loving family, sons, sisters, husband Errol, father, extended family and friends
Reposing at Massey Bros Funerals, 88 A New Cabra Road, Dublin 7 (D07 ET92) on Monday, 3rd of June, from 3pm to 5pm. Funeral arriving on Tuesday to the Holy Family Church, Aughrim Street, Dublin 7, on Tuesday, 4th of June, for 10am funeral Mass, with cremation thereafter to Glasnevin Cemetery for service at 11.30am.
