The second ever Sixth Year graduation for Dunamase College was held in the Dunamaise Arts Centre recently.
33 students graduated; it was the graduation of the second ever year group from Dunamase College.
The theme on the night was butterflies (the idea of cocooning in the safety of our school until they were ready to grow their own wings and take on the next chapter).
It was a really special night with beautiful speeches and music.
On the night, staff and students spoke in both Irish and English to represent the Gaelscoil component of the school also.
There was beautiful music, with songs such as “I’ll always remember you”, “The Winner Takes it all” as Gaelige by Scott Booth and Eoin Duffin, accompanied on guitar by Tadgh O’Dwyer.
Finn O’Mahoney’s father, Brian O’Mahoney, and Oran O’Reilly’s father, Aidan O’Reilly, emotionally sang “Slipping through my fingers”.
There was beautiful instrumental pieces by Andrzej Chabowski Komaisarczuk on the piano with Ella Duffin and Ella Dunphy on the harp.
There really was an array of talent for such a small year group. Aoife O’Meara, their year head, was MC on the night.
Photographer Rene Metelicka was present on the night and captured some great pictures.
