Electric Youth, an arts initiative for Electric Picnic returns for a fifth consecutive year.
The initiative is a competition that offers the winners a chance to perform at Electric Picnic which takes place from August 16 to 18.
Applications are open for people ages 14-24 and can be submitted from ey@ywilaois.com.
Meet and greet sessions take place on June 22 and are in person only. Selection heats will also take place shortly after on June 26 from 6:30 pm to 8pm for 14 to 17 year olds and on June 27 at the same times for 18 to 24 year olds.
The winners of the competition will get a unique opportunity to perform on the Hazelwood stage at the festival showcasing the very best of the emerging musical talent in Laois.
Regional Director of Youth Work Ireland Laois Clive Davis is delighted to have electric youth returning for another year.
He said: “Since being established in 2018, the Electric Youth Music and Arts initiative has been eagerly anticipated annually by the young people of County Laois, and we’re thrilled to present the fifth edition of Electric Youth for 2024.”
Programme Co-Ordinator of Electric Youth Elaine Boyle was equally as delighted to yet again offer the opportunity to Laois’ youth.
She said: We are absolutely delighted to be working with Electric Picnic again this summer for the fifth year of this fabulous initiative, which gives our young people an amazing and unique opportunity, and one which will create lifelong memories”.
