For the second year in a row, Zane Keenan has begun the Laois Hurlers Golf Society calendar with a hugely impressive victory.
Keenan etched his name into the record books with a magnificent score of 47 points to claim the opening Outing of the Society’s 2023 season.
He repeated that feat over the weekend in convincing fashion, when he shot an incredible 41 points to again take top prize.
The event took place in the wonderful surrounds of Rathdowney Golf Club on Saturday.
Completing the leaderboard were Paul Kelly in second, Damien Keenan in third, and Brochan O’Reilly in fourth.
Other prizes were hotly contested, with John Farrell clinching the Nearest to the Pin prize, while Keenan added the Longest Drive to his day’s work.
“Well done to all the winners and all who took part on the day,” the Society said.
“Thanks to the management and staff of Rathdowney Golf Club and the Willow Tree Restaurant for looking after us so well.”
The next Outing will take place in Portlaoise Golf Club in early August while, at Inter County level, the Captains Prize (John Delaney, Errill) is scheduled to take place in Rathdowney on Friday, May 17.
