We are less than 20 weeks away from the beginning of Electric Picnic and still, despite requests to the organisers, we have no line-up announcement – not even a date for one.
However, thanks to The 2 Johnnies, we may have at least one act performing this year.
The lads have teamed up with Murphy’s Irish Stout to give local bands the opportunity to perform at this year’s festival in Stradbally.
All you have to do is post a video of your favourite pub band on Instagram and tag Murphy’s, the 2 Johnnies and the band’s own instagram.
The winning band will perform in the Stradbally Inn, a pub at the heart of Electric Picnic, at this year’s festival.
The closing date for this competition is May 14 and the lads will announce the winners after that.
There is plenty of speculation regarding this year’s line up and, at the very least, we would hope to know who is performing by then.
In years gone by the line up was usually released in February or March.
So not only are we on course for the latest ever line up announcement, we also have the earlier festival – taking place from August 16-18.
The silence around the lineup has been concerning for fans – but according to the 2 Johnnies, it will go ahead at the very least.
