The Live Well Expo returned to Portlaoise over the weekend, as Healthy Laois and Age Friendly Laois hosted the largest Health and Wellbeing show in the Midlands.
Live Well celebrates the range of supports and services that are available to help people improve their own health and wellbeing.
Featuring over 100 exhibition stands providing a wide range of advice and information, the key message of Live Well 2024 was the need to make time for wellbeing .
The main exhibition hall hosted almost 100 exhibitors showcasing a wide range of health-related products, services, and information.
There was also a medium-size stage area which held an event hosted by MC introducing Anna May McHugh, the keynote speaker from the Ploughing Championships.
The area was a casual space with refreshments available, allowing people to selectively drop in for talks and demos covering various topics related to health and well-being, including nutrition and road safety.
At 5pm, the area transitioned into a space for dancing, fostering a lively and celebratory atmosphere for an hour.
In the cosy lounge, revellers were encouraged to enjoy “comfortable conversations,” on topics such as climate, energy, and health in a relaxed environment.
There was an outdoor area featuring dance exercise routines led by Healthy Laois and Age Friendly Partners, promoting physical activity and well-being.
There were also live music performances which added a lively atmosphere, creating a vibrant and enjoyable experience for attendees.
Finally, a small cinema area offered a more relaxed environment where people could take a break while enjoying short films related to health and well-being.
