Two young brothers from Birmingham, England with strong Laois connections have recently taken on the challenge of climbing the 2,507 feet of Croagh Patrick.
Tadhg (11) and Kaelon (8) Lambe climbed up Ireland’s Holy Mountain with the support of their family on Easter weekend in memory of their uncle – Christy Lambe.
The boys had a very close bond with Christy, who their mother, Emma Lambe said who was like a big brother to them.
Tadhg and Kaelon came up with the idea themselves to create awareness and generate some positivity following their loss.
The boys have raised over £12,000 for the Christy Lambe Foundation.
The Christy Lambe Foundation was set up following the sad loss of Christy in 2022, laid to rest in his family hometown of Clonaslee.
Christy was always full of love and compassion and was always helping other people, even if he was struggling himself,” the Lambe family said.
The foundation is committed to raising funds and creating awareness for charities that focus on providing people with mental health support, accommodation, and jobs when in need.
The Foundation is currently supporting homeless charities, Tabor Living and Standing Tall.
This is as well as and the Lighthouse Club, a charity dedicated to the emotional, physical and financial wellbeing of construction workers and their families.
