A Laois rugby club are hosting an open training session for anyone who feels interested in trying out the sport.
PortDara Falcon senior women’s team will host the open training session on Wednesday, April 10 at 7.30pm in Portarlington’s Lea Road Rugby Club.
PortDara are former Leinster League winners, who have cultivated a great sense of community, belonging and friendship among their players.
The club is an amalgamation of Portarlington RFC and Cill Dara RFC and have had huge success on and off the field.
PortDara is led by veran players such as Alexandra Pop, Francie Fitzpatrick and Kate Tynan.
The club also fosters some great young talent, including Alanna Fitzpatrick, part of the Ireland SVNS team currently preparing for the Olympic Games this summer, and Sarah Delaney, part of the Ireland squad currently taking part in the Women’s Six Nations.
Also, current players Orla McDonald, Eve Kehoe, Saoirse Murtagh and Blathnaid Smith have recently been selected for trials with Leinster.
