We now have an opening for a Transport Administrator to join our busy Logistics Division. The role will be based in Mountrath.
As a Transport Administrator, you will play a crucial role in supporting the efficient management of transportation operations within our company.
Reporting directly to the Group Transport Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating various administrative tasks related to transportation, ensuring compliance with regulations, and facilitating smooth communication between internal departments and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
1 – Administrative Support
- Assist in the coordination of daily transportation activities, including scheduling, routing and dispatching.
- Maintain accurate records of transportation transactions, including deliveries, pickups and driver logs.
- Prepare and process relevant shipping documentation.
2 – Communication and Coordination
- Liaise with drivers, suppliers and customers to ensure timely and accurate delivery and pickup of product.
- Serve as a point of contact for inquiries, concerns and issues related to transportation operations.
- Collaborate with internal departments, such as production and logistics, to optimise transportation efficiency and address any logistical challenges.
3 – Regulatory Compliance
Stay updated on transportation regulations, licences and permits relevant to the industry.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations, including those related to vehicle maintenance and driver qualifications.
Assist in the preparation of regulatory reports and documentation as required.
4 – Data Management
- Maintain transportation databases and systems to track inventory, shipments, and other relevant information.
- Analyse transportation data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
- Generate regular reports and summaries to support decision-making processes and operational planning.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Primary Qualification in Business, Logistics or Sales related discipline desirable
- Previous experience in transportation administration or logistics coordination preferred.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritise tasks.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards in the transportation industry.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and operational needs.
