The Laois minor hurling team to face Kildare on Saturday in Round 1 of the Leinster minor championship has been named.
Glen McEvoy’s charges are off to Hawkfield tomorrow with throw in scheduled for 1pm.
From the team that was knocked out of the championship by Dublin last year, five players remain.
Ethan Lafferty is between the sticks while Ruaidhri Kavanagh is named at centre back.
Kyron Cuddy and Eoin Bracken both came in from the bench that day and they are named to start at corner and wing forward respectively.
Ballyfin’s Shane Connolly also came in off the bench last April and will be poised to do so again on Saturday.
Laois start their campaign in Tier 2 of Leinster and all of their matches will be on Saturdays.
They begin away to Kildare on Saturday and then host Kerry on April 6.
They then conclude their campaign at home to Carlow on April 27.
To progress, Laois must finish in first or second position in their group.
If Laois get out of the group, they will take on the winner or runner up from the group involving Antrim, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath or Wicklow preliminary quarter final on May 4.
The winners of this will progress to the quarter finals on May 11 where they will play either the third or fourth placed teams from Tier 1 which includes Kilkenny, Dublin, Wexford and Galway.
