Students and teachers at Dunamase College came together recently to celebrate diversity in the school.
Their annual Culture Day took place on March 14 as students from 25 different countries showcased their nationality.
A spokesperson said: “On the school’s journey to become a ‘Champion School of Sanctuary’, teachers in Dunamase College conducted research to identify how many different nationalities were attending the school.
“Due to our diverse and inclusive culture we discovered there was over 25 different nationalities in our community.
“In light of this, on March 14, Dunamase College held an extensive exhibition that showcased each one of these cultures in all of their glory.
“This annual ‘Culture Day’ presented the beautiful tapestry of traditions, flavours, and rhythms from all around the globe.
“From vibrant flags, mouth-watering cuisines, ethnic folk dances, sounds and lyrics from distant shores, chattering in native tongue to a colourful display of traditional attire.
“All members of our community embraced this wholesome day, with a genuine sense of pride and enthusiasm in the air.
“As a Champion School of Sanctuary the school will strive to uphold this tradition as an important event in every academic year’s calendar, placing it at the heart of our school’s identity.
“Dunamase College, leading the way in inclusivity, embracing diversity one culture at a time.”
