Last week, SOLAS Eco Garden Centre in Portarlington hosted a lively garden festival that drew in gardening enthusiasts from near and far.
The event was a smashing success, with attendees eagerly participating in a variety of activities throughout the weekend.
Co-owner John Carey, though unable to fully immerse himself due to customer demands, expressed his excitement for the event and his intention to prioritize attending talks and gardening demonstrations in future festivals.
With glowing feedback from customers, SOLAS is already considering the possibility of hosting similar events later in the year.
Meanwhile, SOLAS continued to buzz with activity throughout the week, as students from several local schools attended newly introduced educational courses.
These courses cover a diverse range of topics including gardening, sustainability, business, food, and fashion, providing invaluable knowledge and skills to eager learners.
As the weekend approaches, SOLAS gears up for another round of festivities, this time in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day.
The garden centre is set to become a hub of excitement, offering a family-friendly environment complete with live music from local band New Rule, captivating Irish dancing performances by SRLT Scoil Rince Lar Na Tire School of Dance, and a host of activities including a St Patrick’s photo booth, face painting, and craft workshops for children.
With the stage set and the tri-colour bunting fluttering in the breeze, SOLAS promises a weekend filled with “craic” and camaraderie for the whole family to enjoy.
