A Laois student was among those honoured at a ceremony in UCD this week to mark the outstanding results that she achieved in her Leaving Cert last year.
Former Clonaslee College student Mary Grehan was one of five recipients of a UCD Entrance Scholarship Award.
UCD recognises the calibre of its incoming high-achieving students with the award of UCD Entrance Scholar.
Entrance Scholar awards are presented to first year students who achieve 560 points or more in their Leaving Certificate in recognition of their academic accomplishment to date.
No application is required and recipients are automatically informed.
Recipients are presented with a recognition certificate at the ceremony and their achievements are recorded on their academic transcript.
Among the guests present at the ceremony was Ms Deirdre Caplice, Year Head at Clonaslee College, who joined in extending heartfelt congratulations to Mary on her remarkable achievement.
