Laois have their first point of Division 2 of the National Football League thanks to a last gasp Emily Lacey point.
This was a meeting of top versus bottom in Division 2 with hosts Tyrone winning their first three games.
The Red Hands were expected to make it four from four but Laois had other ideas and deserved to leave with a draw.
The contest was even to begin with as Mo Nerney saw a brace of points cancelled out by Chloe McCaffrey and Aoibhinn McHugh.
Maria Canavan pushed Tyrone ahead in the 17th minute but they didn’t score again as Laois took control.
The spark came when Emily Lacey smashed a Mo Nerney free to the net and then Susie Delaney followed that with a point.
Mo Nerney kicked two late frees and Laois took a 1-5 to 0-3 lead into the half time break.
Tyrone came out a different team when play resumed and kicked five points in a row to square the game.
Chloe McCaffrey kicked three of these while Maria Canavan and Aoibhinn Daly also pointed.
Grainne Lalor restored Laois’s lead and then when Sinead Farrelly burst forward and released Roisin Allen, the Crettyard forward slotted Laois’s second goal and they were five points ahead.
But Tyrone came again. Chloe McCaffrey and Aoibhinn McHugh scored goals in quick succession to put Tyrone a point ahead with six minutes to play.
However, Emily Lacey’s late point and some find Laois defending saw them hold on for a draw.
