The Camross senior hurling panel and committee members of 2023 handed over a cheque to Laois Hospice this week.
The players and club hosted a Coffee Day back in October of last year where they raised €2,369 for the local hospice.
Since its inception in 1989, Laois Hospice Foundation has helped to provide a palliative care service for Cancer patients, whose illness no longer responds to curative treatment.
The Hospice also provides support for the families of such patients.
This total care involves doctors, nurses, a team of specialists and the clergy, who are all concerned with quality of life.
The presentation of the cheque on the night was carried out by Darragh Duggan, Ciaran Collier and Dwane Palmer to Mary Finlay ( Treasurer) and Mary Delaney (Chairperson) of Laois Hospice.
Sinéad Phelan, Club PRO and event coordinator, was also present alongside Chairperson Jack Cuddy and Secretary Ursula Dunphy
The catering committee, who made the event a success, Carmel Palmer and Geraldine Bennett, were also there with current senior hurlers Liam Delaney, Odhrán Phelan, Ben Deegan and James Cuddy.
Well done to all!
