Laois senior hurlers confirm 35 player panel ahead of 2024 National League

Laois senior hurling manager Willie Maher has named a 35-player panel ahead of the 2024 season.

Laois begin their Division 2 hurling league campaign on Sunday at home to Down.

Clough-Ballacolla have the highest number of players on the panel with seven.

Camross, Rosenallis and The Harps are next with four players each.

Rathdowney-Errill, Borris-Kilcotton, Castletown and Ballinakill all have three each.

While Mountmellick, Clonaslee-St Manman’s, Trumera and Abbeyleix all have one each.

A total of 12 clubs are represented and the team is captained by Borris-Kilcotton’s Aaron Dunphy and vice-captained by Martin Phelan of Castletown.

One very noticeable absentee is Rathdowney-Errill’s Ross King who has been a mainstay on the team for the best part of the last decade.
