Laois GAA have confirmed the start dates for all divisions of the club hurling and football leagues for 2024.
The first club action of the new year will actually begin on February 9 with the commencement of the Kelly Cup.
The draw for this took place at Monday’s County Board meeting and 11 teams have entered.
Defending champions Stradbally are seeking two in a row while Arles-Killeen, Ballylinan, Courtwood, Crettyard, Emo, Killeshin, Park-Ratheniska, St Joseph’s, The Heath and Timahoe have also signalled their interest.
Exactly a month later, the first of the club leagues will get underway as ACFL Division 3 is set to begin on March 9.
With ACFL Division 4 getting going a day later on March 10.
March 23 will see the start of ACFL Division 1 while ACFL Division 2 will get underway a day later.
Division 6 is due for the off on March 29 while Division 7 gets going on April 2.
Those in ACFL Division 5 have the longest wait with their league season not kicking off until April 9.
Like last season, Divisions 1, 2 and 3 will play seven rounds before splitting into a top four and bottom four.
The top four will battle it out for silverware while the bottom four will play to avoid relegation.
The first of the club hurling leagues to commence is ACHL Division 5 on March 23 with Division 6 starting a day later.
ACHL Division 1 begins on March 31 with Division 4 set to commence a day earlier.
Division 2 is down for the off on April 6 while Division 3 is the last to get going on April 7.
