The men and women of Ballyfin GAA club are hosting a fundraiser with a major twist, as they prepare to bring the jungle to Laois.
On Saturday, January 27, the club will host the ‘Jungle Challenge’ in the Midlands Park Hotel, Portlaoise.
‘Jungle Challenge’ is a live action version of I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here.
The event organised by Dublin-based company, Fundraising Events Group who help clubs, schools, charities and organisations to run fundraisers.
According to FEG, the Jungle Challenge “pits two teams against each other to collect Stars by overcoming their greatest fears.
“Not for the Faint Hearted, the contestants will be put to the test by taking part in a variety of challenges / trials.
“Who can survive the Hell Holes, Bugs, Snakes, devour the Gourmet Critters and overcome a series of Spine Tingling and Tension Filled Challenges to beat their opponents, and be crowned King or Queen of the Jungle?”
Confirmed contestants include Adam Connolly, Eamonn Duff, Líadadn C Fennell, Cathy Hogan, Éanna Lyons, Niamh O’Rourke, and Noel Walsh.
You can get a sample of what they have in store here.
“Expect squirming, crawling, wriggling, squealing and no small amount of giggling and craic as they are challenged as no Ballyfin people have been challenged before.”
Tickets are €25 and can be purchased from Deadman’s Inn, Ballyfin, Bosco’s Gala, Portlaoise, and committee mebers and contestants.
Doors open at 7pm with the show set to start at 8pm
This is an over-15’s-only event.
