Funeral details have been announced for the late David McDonald, the Laois man who sadly passed away in New Zealand.
David McDonald of Derrydavy, Mountmellick, Laois, died peacefully on Tuesday, January 9 following a brief illness.
He was surrounded by his loving family in the care of the nurses and doctors in Auckland City Hospital, New Zealand.
Mr McDonald, who was aged in his late 30s and had previously worked in St Vincent’s hospital in Mountmellick, had been living for many years in New Zealand with his partner Flavio.
David will repose in his home (Derrydavy, Mountmellick R32 HD36) on Wednesday and Thursday, January 24 and 25, from 2pm with recital of The Rosary at 8pm.
His Removal will take place on Friday January 26 at 10.15am to St Joseph’s Church, Mountmellick via The Rock arriving for 11am Requiem Mass.
This will be followed by cremation at 2pm in Newlands Cross Crematorium Dublin (D24 EP83).
Anyone who wishes to attend the crematorium is more than welcome.

He is sadly missed by his loving partner Flavio Villani and his devastated parents Peter and Elsie who have lost their only son.
Adored by his sisters Anna, Lizzie and Orla, his beloved nephews Billy and Jack and niece Lucy and sadly missed by his bothers- in-law John Ryan, John Kirwan and Gary Guilfoyle, his aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, neighbours and vast circle of friends.
