Gardai are appealing for witnesses to a crash which happened yesterday to come forward to aid their investigation.
The incident happened on the R445 at Ballaghmore and involved a trailer carrying blocks of wood and a vehicle.
The vehicle which was travelling behind the trailer collided with it between 11.45am and 12.30pm.
A helicopter and several strands of the emergency services were called to the scene.
One driver was taken to hospital where their injuries are described as ‘non-life threatening’.
Gardai said: “Abbeyleix Gardai were at the scene of a road traffic collision on R445 at Ballaghmore, where a trailer that was being towed collided with a vehicle traveling behind it.
“We are appealing for any witnesses and anyone who may have dashcam footage, that was driving between Roscrea and Borris In Ossory between 11.45am and 12.30pm, to contact us at Abbeyleix Garda Station on 0578730580.
“One driver was taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries.
“Thanks to Roscrea Fire Station and Laois County Fire & Rescue Services for the assistance and to the local community in Ballaghmore for helping clear the road.”
