Conroy, Michael (Mike) (Castleknock, Dublin 15, Charleville, Co. Cork and formerly of Rosenallis, Co. Laois) January 4th., 2024 (peacefully) in the loving care of the staff at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Dublin. Beloved husband of Dorothy and much-loved father of Debbie and James and brother of tahe late Anne (Ryan); Mike will be sadly missed by his loving wife, son, daughter, grandchildren Mark, Emma, Sarah, Ruth and Laura, son-in-law Maurice, daughter-in-law Kelly, brothers John and Noel, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Reposing at Cunningham’s Funeral Home, Blanchardstown (D15 XR76) on Wednesday evening (January 10th) between 6 pm and 8 pm. Removal on Thursday morning (January 11th) to St. Brigid’s Church, Rosenallis, Co. Laois arriving for Funeral Mass at 12 noon followed by burial in St. Brigid’ Cemetery, Rosenallis.

Peter Culbert, Portarlington and late of Dr Murphy’s Place, Portlaoise. Died peacefully at the Regional Hospital Portlaoise, on January 6th 2024. After a short illness. Surrounded by his loving family. Son of the late Elizabeth and Patrick Culbert. Predeceased by his sisters, Mary, Chrissie, Angela, and brother Billy. Deeply regretted by his loving brothers and sisters. Julie, Patsy, Josie, Martin, Noel, Charlie, Kate, Jimmy, Paul, Joe, Elizabeth, Martina and Joan, brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces. relatives and friends.
Reposing at Keegans Funeral home Portlaoise on Monday evening, from 6.30pm until 8pm, with rosary recital at 7.30pm. Removal on Tuesday to SS Peter and Paul’s Church for 12 noon requiem Mass. Removal afterwards to Newlands Crematorium. For service at 2.30 pm. Family flowers only.
Ena O’Connell Deegan
Fisherstown, Ballybrittas, Laois
Formerly of Coolroe, Ballybrittas. Peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Regional Hospital Tullamore. Predeceased by her loving husband Stan and her adored brothers Thomas and George. Deeply regretted by her heartbroken daughter Bernadette (Bernie), son-in-law John Walsh, her brother John Joe O’Connell, and sisters-in-law.
Ena was much loved and will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, extended family, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.
Reposing at her home in Fisherstown, Ballybrittas County Laois (eircode R32 D2E9) on Sunday evening 7th January from 3pm with Rosary at 7pm. Removal on Monday morning 8th January at 11:30am arriving The Sacred Heart Church Rath (Ballybrittas) (eircode R32 FN44) for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. Funeral afterwards to the New Cemetery Emo.

Martin Mulhall, Shannon Road, Mountrath, Co. Laois. Died 3rd January 2024 (unexpectedly) at the Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his brother Bobby. Deeply regretted by his mother Kathleen, her partner Tom, sisters Deborah, Linda, Martina, Catherine and Ellen, brothers George and Michael, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and extended family.
Reposing at his mother’s home on Saturday, 6th January, for family members only. Removal on Monday morning at 9.30 a.m. to St. Fintan’s Church, Mountrath, for Requiem Mass at 10 a.m. followed by Burial in St. Fintan’s Cemetery, Mountrath.

Gerard (Gerry) Halpin, Mountrath, Co.Laois, and Skerries, Co. Dublin. Died 2nd January 2024, peacefully surrounded by his loving wife Chrissie and family. Sadly missed by his beloved wife and sons Peter, Ian and Adrian, grandchildren Danielle, Mathieu, Graham, Harry and Billy, daughters-in-law Gretchen, Maria and Ann-Marie, nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at his home Mountrath (eircode R32Y189) on Saturday 6th January from 4.0’clock, concluding with Rosary at 8.0’clock. Removal on Sunday morning to St. Fintan’s Church Mountrath (eircode R32X338) for Requiem Mass at 11.30 a.m. followed by Removal to Lannon’s Funeral Home, Skerries (eircode K34EP94).

Mary Hale née Whelan, The Ferns, Blackrock, Co. Louth and formerly of Abbeyleix, Co Laois, Peacefully in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, 5th January 2024. Mary daughter of the late Evelyn and Charlie, much loved mother of Elizabeth and the late Denise, grandma of Cian, sister of Evelyn, Elizabeth, John, Richard, Barry, Dermot and the late Paul and sister-in-law of the late Royston. Mary will be sadly missed by her daughter, grandchild, son in law Jason, sisters, brother in law Mick, sisters-in -law Frances, Ann, Geraldine and Cindy, nephews, nieces, her cousins in Limerick and all her friends in Blackrock.
Reposing at her home in The Ferns from 2pm until 8pm on Sunday. Removal on Monday morning at 10.30am walking to St Oliver Plunkett Church, Blackrock arriving for Mass at 11am. Burial in St Fursey’s Cemetery, Haggardstown.

Reposing at his daughter Geraldine’s residence, 1 New Park, Portlaoise, Co. Laois, on Friday the 5th of January from 4pm until 8pm with prayers at 7:30. Funeral arriving to The Church of SS Mary and Laurence Crookstown on Saturday the 6th for Requiem Mass at 12 noon, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Reposing at Burke’s Funeral Home Mountrath (eircode R32Y661) on Friday 5th January from 6 o’clock, concluding with Funeral Prayers at 7.30 p.m. Removal on Saturday afternoon to Roskelton Church (eircode R32RR77) for Funeral Service at 3 o’clock, followed by burial in the adjoining churchyard.
