Despite the atrocious weather conditions, a huge crowd turned out to ring in 2024 at the annual Ballacolla New Years Day Walk and Tractor Run.
Michael G Phelan, one of the organisers, thanked everyone who helped.
He said: “Great credit to all who helped organise in such testing conditions.
“To the Registration crews and Roisin at Coach O’Leary’s for providing seating at the registration point, the Stewards and leaders, Glanbia for parking and Tom Ferns for the sound system .
“A big thanks to David Lalor and Trish McEvoy and their helpers for providing outstanding hospitality in the yard where the raffle was also held.”
Raffle winners were:

Sponsors of the raffle prizes included Glanbia, Ashbrook Arms, The Brewery Bar and O’Malley’s Bar.
Proceeds from the day will support Ballacolla National School.
