Founded in 1857, Sacred Heart National School Rath is a co-educational primary school located near the village of Ballybrittas in the parish of Emo/Portarlington.
Currently there are 194 pupils enrolled in the school, with eight mainstream classes and two special classes for children with autism.
Enrolment for the 2024/2025 school year opens on January 8th and will remain open throughout the month of January.
To coincide with this, we are opening the school between 11am and 1pm on Saturday, January 13th, and inviting all prospective pupils and their families to visit us and meet with staff and pupils who will showcase all that Rath NS has to offer.
The pupils in the school are predominantly drawn from the Ballybrittas and Courtwood side of Emo/Portarlington Parish, but we do have some pupils in the school come from further afield.
In addition to endeavouring to achieve high academic standards across all subject areas, the school prides itself on offering a broad and balanced school experience.
There is a strong focus on sport, music, STEM and the arts.
