Michael (Mick) O’Neill
Emmet Terrace, Mountmellick, Laois
Michael (better known as Mick) Emmet Terrace, Mountmellick, died as a result of an accident on December 23rd 2023. Beloved son of the late Tom and Sarah.
Former employee of Denny’s Mountmellick. Deeply regretted by his loving family, neighbours, relatives and his many friends.
Reposing in his home on Tuesday 26th (St Stephen’s Day) from 4pm with recital of The Rosary at 7pm. Reposing on Wednesday 27th from 2pm with recital of The Rosary at 4.30pm.
Removal from his home at 5.15pm to St Joseph’s Church Mountmellick arriving for 6pm. Requiem Mass on Thursday at 11am followed by cremation in Mount Jerome Crematorium Dublin (D6W HY98).

Nancy Connolly (née Loughnane)
Ashgrove, Mountmellick, Laois/Birr, Offaly/Roscrea, Tipperary
The death has occurred of Nancy Connolly (nee Loughnane), Ashgrove, Mountmellick, Co.Laois. Formerly of Roscrea, Co.Tipperary and Coolderry, Birr, Co. Offaly.
Died peacefully in the presence of her adoring family in the gentle care of the nurses and staff of Oakdale Nursing Home, Portarlington. Predeceased by her beloved husband Seamus, brothers Michael and Brendan and sister Reecie.
Deeply regretted by her loving children Joe, Anne, Brendan, Gráinne, Aidan, Emer and Diarmuid. Her brothers William, Coleman and Vincent, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and neighbours. Her daughters-in-law, Orla, Paula, and Imelda.
Her sons-in-law, Michael, Gary and Ken. Loving grandmother to Rory, Damhnait, Brendan, Aoife, Seamus, Elyse, Amy, Darragh, Eoin, Brian, Daniel, Sophie, Shay, Shane, Niamh, and her great grandchild Cuan.
Reposing at Moloney’s Funeral Home Mountmellick on Tuesday 26th of December from 3pm. Recital of The Rosary at 6pm. Removal from her daughter Emer’s home on Wednesday morning to St Joseph’s Church, Mountmellick for Requiem Mass at 11am followed by burial in St Joseph’s Cemetery, Mountmellick.

Ellen Costigan (née Doyle)
Clonad, Portlaoise, Laois, R32PC90/Roscrea, Tipperary
Ellen Costigan (née Doyle) Clonad, Portlaoise and formerly of Ballymoheen, Clonakenny, Roscrea, died suddenly at home, on Friday 22nd December.
Deeply missed by her adoring family, her husband John and five children John Joe, Mary, Margaret, Denis and Matthew; brother and sisters Mick, Kitty, Sarah, Jane and Mary; brother-in-law Donal, sister-in-law Marian; daughter-in-law Rahee, partners Sarah and Adam; nieces and nephews and all those who knew and loved her.
Reposing at her home in Clonad (R32 PC90) on Sunday 24th December (Christmas Eve) from 3pm, with Rosary at 7.30pm. House private at other times, please.
Funeral Mass Tuesday 26th December (St. Stephen’s Day) at 12 noon in St. Fintan’s Church, Raheen. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only.
Elizabeth Curran (née Haughney)
Beechmount Road, Highfield Park, Galway City, Galway/Crettyard, Laois
Elizabeth Curran (née Haughney), Beechmount Road, Highfield Park, Galway and formerly of Clonbrock, Crettyard, Co. Laois, passed away peacefully in Galway Hospice on Thursday 21st December, surrounded by her loving family.
Predeceased by her husband Jim, brothers Martin and Paddy, sisters Ellen and Annie, nephew Michael Hughes and his wife Anne and her niece Bernadette Hughes.
Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter Louise, sons John and Martin, granddaughters Niamh, Aoife, Ellen and Anna, great-grandchildren Marni, James and Alice, son-in-law Kelvin, daughter-in-law Karen, sister-in-law Mary, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Reposing at Rigney’s Funeral Home, Athy on Tuesday (Jan. 2nd) from 6pm until 8pm. Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday 3rd January, 2024 in Saint Abban’s Church, Doonane, Crettyard at 12 noon.

Tone Donovan, Slough, London and formerly of Cuddagh, Castletown, Co. Laois, December 15th. 2023. Predeceased by his brothers Jack and Danny, sisters Kathleen and Ann (Nan).
He will be lovingly, remembered by his loving wife Debbie, sons Nicholas, Joseph, Stephen, Dominic and Damien, his daughter Pagan, daughters in law, sons in law, grandchildren, brothers, Tom, Joe, Pat, Larry and Ollie, sisters Phil, Collette, Bridie, Mary and Patricia, brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Cremation will take place in Slough Crematorium, England at 1pm on Tuesday, 2nd January 2024.

DOUGLAS John (Joseph) Hawthorn Close, Newbridge, Co. Kildare and late of Portarlington, Co. Laois – 21st December 2023 (peacefully) surrounded by his loving family at Naas Hospital after a short illness.
Predeceased by his loving wife Margaret (Peggy). Fondly missed by his dearest daughters Sarah (Foley), Maria (Morrison), sons-in-law Shane and Andy, grandchildren Fern, Cian, Felix, Iarla and Fia, sister Susan, brothers-in-law Tom and Oliver, nieces and nephews, extended family, relatives and friends.

Anne O’Sullivan

O’Sullivan, Anne (Sydney, Australia, late of Blackrock, Dublin and Portlaoise. Anne died peacefully surrounded by her family on 19th December 2023 in the wonderful care of Wolper Jewish Hospital in Sydney.
Predeceased by her dad, Joe, in December 2020, Anne will be forever missed by her heartbroken mother Mary, sisters Deirdre, Mary, Breda, brothers John, Declan, Ciarán her brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and all who adored her.
Forever loved by her long-term companion, Jean-Louis, and very sadly missed by all her wonderful friends and colleagues.

William (Billy) Ramsbottom

Billy passed away suddenly but peacefully in his 93rd year at Kilkenny Greyhound Stadium surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his wife Mary, brothers Sean, Noel and Fr Pat.
Sadly missed by his heart broken family, sons Pat, Liam, JJ, Mellow and Karol, daughters Mairead, Patricia and Mary P, sisters in law Bríd, Marie Goretti, brother in law Michael, sons in law Donal and Dan, daughters in law Margaret, Deirdre, Fran, Linda, Irene and his 17 adored grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.
Reposing in Saint Michael’s Church, Timahoe (R32 X880) on Sunday (Christmas Eve) from 1pm to 5:30pm. Arriving for Requiem mass to Saint Michael’s Church, Timahoe for 1pm on (Saint Stephens Day) Tuesday, followed by Interment in Saint Michael’s Cemetery. Family flowers only. Lucy Hyland, (nee Davin), Bordwell, Ballacolla, Co. Laois, December 21st. 2023, peacefully at Blackrock Clinic, Dublin surrounded by her loving family.
Predeceased by her beloved husband Frank, sister Joan and brother Billy. Sadly missed by her adored family, Paul, Mary, David and John, daughters-in-law Elaine and Michelle, son-in-law Paddy Dalton, grandchildren Frank, Patrick, James, Bill, Louise, David and Harry, brother John, sister Mary, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.
Reposing at her residence (Eircode R32 EY40) on Tuesday, December 26th, and Wednesday, December 27th, from 4 o’clock pausing for prayers at 7 o’clock both evenings.
Removal on Thursday morning, December 28th, to St. Canice’s Church, Clough (Eircode R32 K003) arriving for Requiem mass at 11. o’clock. Cremation takes place afterwards at Mount Jerome Crematorium Dublin at 3.15 o’clock.
