Our moment in time looks back to an opening of a creche in Abbeyleix when some Fianna Fail heavy-hitters turned up for the official occasion.
Then TD and Minister John Donoghue was the guest of honour, as the serving Minister for Justice.
The Kerry TD came to power on a campaign of ‘zero tolerance’ of crime.
His tenure ended in controversey over the use of a limousine while the Minister for Arts & Tourism.
However, there was no whiff of scandal in Abbeyleix when he visited along with Deputies Sean Fleming and John Moloney and Cllr John Joe Fennelly.

And, judging by the happy faces at the opening of Jelly Tots, everyone was delighted with the occasion.
Since then, Jelly Tots Playschool has gone from strength to strength, operating at Fr Breen Park.
It opens from 8 am to 6 pm and provides a whole range of child-centred services.
