Edward (Eddie) Dawson (Ballylehane, Wolfhill, Laois) passed away suddenly at his residence on 13th December, 2023. Predeceased by his beloved parents Joe and Gretta, brothers Denis (Dermy), John and Joseph, sisters Kathleen and Ita, sisters-in-law Phil and June and brothers-in-law Michael and Denis. Sadly missed by his loving sister Mary and brother-in-law Joe, sister-in-law Kathleen, hs dear friend Pauline, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours and friends.

Buckley Alice (Patricia) (nee Walsh) 6th December 2023 Coolock and formerly of Ballybrittas, Laois, peacefully in Beaumont Hospital with her family by her side. Predeceased by her husband Thomas. Alice will be very sadly missed by her sons Brendan and Gerard, daughter Niamh and step daughter Anne, her extended family, friends and neighbours.

Peacefully in the loving care of the staff of Mount Carmel Nursing Home, Roscrea, Co. Tipperary surrounded by her loving family.
Pre-deceased by her husband Kevin, son Tom, brothers Jim and Paddy and sister Margaret.
Much loved mother of Tim, Mary, Brendan, Kevin and Catherine. Adored grandmother of BJ, Patrick, Roisin, Kevin, Sean, Aaron, Kevin and Dearbhail, great grandmother of Ben, Ellie, Cian, Lennon, Eabha, Mia, Isabella and Kaia. Sadly missed by her daughter-in-law Elizabeth and Aileen, sons-in-law Liam and Steve, her nieces, nephews, extended families and her wonderful friends.
Arriving in Ballinakill Church, Ballinakill, Co. Laois for Funeral Mass on Saturday morning at 11.00am followed by burial afterwards in the adjoining St. Brigid’s Cemetery.
Catherine Tobin (née Duggan)
Ballyfin Road, Mountrath, Laois
Catherine Tobin, (née Duggan). Ballyfin Road, Mountrath, Co.Laois. Died 12th December 2023 peacefully at Tallaght Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Sadly missed by her husband Pauric, children Edel, Patrick, Debra, Kieran and Róisín, grandson Nathan, brother, sister, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at Burke’s Funeral Home, Mountrath on Friday evening (15th December) from 6.0’clock concluding with Rosary at 8.0’clock. Removal from her home on Saturday morning to St. Fintan’s Church, for Requiem Mass at 10.0’clock, followed by Burial in St. Fintan’s Cemetery, Mountrath.

Kevin Martin
8 Emmet Street, Mountmellick, Laois
Unexpectedly but peacefully at his home. Pre deceased by his father John. Kevin will be sadly missed by his heartbroken mother Kathleen, sister Geraldine, brothers David and John Ambrose, his aunts, uncles, cousins and all who knew him.
Reposing at O’Reilly’s Funeral Home, Harbour Street, Tullamore (R35 FC84) on Friday from 7pm until 8pm. Funeral Mass for Kevin will take place on Saturday morning at 10am in the Church of the Assumption, Tullamore, followed by Burial after Mass in Clonminch Cemetery, Tullamore.

Mary Stoddart (née Seale)
Grange, Aughrim, Ballinasloe, Galway / Durrow, Laois
Mary passed unexpectedly at her home. Formerly of Attanagh, Durrow, Co. Laois. Predeceased by her brothers Des and Robert. Mary will be sadly missed and forever loved by her loving husband Robert, her daughter Myrtle and sons George and Alan, their partners Paal, Gillian and Eileen, grandchildren Luke, Andrew, Sophie, Eve, Nathan and Isobella, brothers Ray and Willie, sisters in law Joyce, Pam and Shirley, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Mary will repose at St. Catherine’s Community Hall, Aughrim (H53 D9F4) on Thursday, 14th December, from 6 pm with removal at 8 pm to St. John’s Church, Ballinasloe. Funeral Service on Friday at 1 pm with interment afterwards in Holy Trinity Churchyard, Aughrim.
Elizabeth (Lily) McEvoy
Kilminchy, Portlaoise, Laois
The death has occurred of Elizabeth (Lily) McEvoy. Lily passed away in the loving care of the staff of the Midland Regional Hospital, Portlaoise on 13th December 2023. Surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Elizabeth, her brother Joe and brother in law Dan Cooke. Dear sister and best friend of Meta her children Eadaoin, Siobhan and Dearbhail and sister in law Kathleen McEvoy and her children Declan, Deirdre, Fiona and Caitriona. Loved dearly by her 13 grandnieces, grand nephews, a great grandniece, nieces and nephews in law, relatives and friends.
Reposing at Keegans Funeral Home on Thursday from 6 pm till 7.30pm, with rosary at 7 pm. Funeral will arrive at SS Peter and Paul’s Church for 12 noon mass on Friday. Interment will follow in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Portlaoise.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, December 15th, at 11am in St Mary’s Church, Barrowhouse.
