Funeral details have been announced for John Delaney, the young Laois man who died tragically this week while out for a run near his home in Kyledellig, Ballacolla.

He is also deeply mourned by his sisters-in-law Sara and Kate, nieces Evelyn and Sadie and nephew Tim.
He worked in the family business Design Options, the well-established furniture shop, and was a welcoming and warm presence there and in the adjacent family coffee shop Brew.
Jack will repose in his home (R32 K5D0) on Thursday (December 7) and Friday (December 8) from 4pm with rosary at 8pm, both evenings.
Removal Saturday morning (December 9) from his residence to arrive at St Canice’s Church, Clough (R32 K003) for Requiem Mass at 12 noon with interment immediately afterwards in Knockaroo Cemetery (R32 F886).
Members of Laois County Council paid tribute to Jack at today’s meeting of Borris-in-Ossory/Mountmellick Municipal District.
“He was a lovely young man,” said Cllr John King from Rathdowney who is chairman of that district. “I know the family well and my sincerest sympathies to them.”
“It’s very sad,” added Cllr James Kelly. “They are a very popular family and for parents to bury a child is heart-breaking. The community will rally around them.”
“So sad and unexpected,” said Cllr Conor Bergin. “We’ve had a lot of tragic losses in this area this year of young people and my thoughts are with the Delaney family at this difficult time.”
“A terrible tragedy,” said Cllr Ollie Clooney. “It puts it all in context. All the fussing and rushing we all do and life can be changed in an instant.
“They are a lovely, hard-working family – may God bless them.”
