A Veteran Concern Worldwide fundraiser has expressed thanks to all those who donated in her annual event.
Mountmellick’s Alice Culliton thanked all those who assisted with the Concern Christmas fast fundraising in SuperValu, Mountmellick on Friday, November 24.
Over €3,000 was raised from both the event in SuperValu and online donations
The funds raised will go towards providing relief in Niger, one of the poorest countries in the world.
Here, 9.5 million people are affected by extreme poverty and which is badly affected by the climate crisis.
76-year-old Alice joined people all over Ireland in fasting and raising money for people in need.
The former home economics teacher has previously worked in Ethiopia, Tanzania, Uganda, Sudan, Angola and Bangladesh over 22 years.
