Former Laois senior footballer Colm Begley has been announced as the new chairman of Laois Gaels.
The Stradbally man succeeds another former Laois great, Leo Turley, who was at the helm this year.
Laois Gaels are the supporters wing of Laois GAA and they recently detailed what the funds they raised this year were used for.
Laois Gaels had over 500 members and 30 businesses and partnership members in 2023.
Funds raised went towards assisting the six football and hurling Development Squads which had 240 players and 30 coaches.
It also assisted the Setanta and O Mhordha Og programmes where more than 400 future Laois stars and 100 coaches were kitted out.
A spokesperson for Laois Gaels paid tribute to the outgoing Leo Turley.
They said: “On behalf of all Laois Gaels we would like to pay tribute to, and thank our outgoing Chairperson Leo Turley for his work over the past number of years.
“When Laois called, Leo always answered and we were incredibly lucky to have his drive, passion and business acumen at our core over our formative years here at Laois Gaels.
They also welcomed Colm Begley to the role.
They said: “We are delighted to announce Colm Begley as our new Chairperson, heading up a committee of hugely motivated Laois Gaels, determined to drive and fuel our Academies as we work to push Laois Football and Hurling to new heights.
“Colm needs no introduction to all Laois Gaels and the knowledge gained at home and abroad will be invaluable to our plans over the coming weeks and months.”
