Catherine Comerford-Smeaton, Levalley, Rathdowney, Co. Laois, November 8th. 2023, peacefully, at the Milford Care Centre Limerick, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her parents John and Sarah Comerford, brother John-Joe, her sisters who died in their infancy and brother-in-law Peter Whelan. Sadly missed by her loving family, Nicola, Keifer and Micheala, their father Terry, Nicola’s partner Michael, Keifer’s partner Shannon, her adored grandchildren Finley, Amelia and Maia, sisters Josephine (Whelan), Lily (Fagan) and Ann (Maher), brothers Frank, Tommy, Michael, Vincent, Richard and Pat, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.
Reposing at her residence (Eircode R32 V5 D3) on Friday evening from 5pm until 8pm. Removal on Saturday morning at 10.45am to The Island Crematorium, Cork, arriving for funeral service at 1pm. No flowers, please. Donations, if desired, to The Milford Care Centre, Limerick.
Margaret (Peg) Phelan (née Rafter)

Peacefully at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband Jimmy, sons John and Joe, brother Sean, grandson Sean and great-granddaughter Bridie. Deeply regretted by her loving children Patricia (Burns), Liam, P.J.,Shem, Mary (Lyons), Bridie (Dowling), Eamonn, Ger, Anthony and Fintan, her brother Edmund Rafter, sister in law Betty, sons in law, daughters in law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Reposing in Holy Trinity Church, Durrow, on Friday 10th of November, from 4.30pm concluding with prayers at 7.30 pm. Funeral Mass on Saturday at 2pm followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations, in lieu of flowers, to Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind. House strictly private, please.

Formerly of South Africa, Ballord Lodge Nursing Home, Portlaoise, Laois / Dublin
The death has taken place of Rubiya Majam, Ballord Lodge Nursing Home, Portlaoise and formerly South Africa and Dublin, on 3rd November 2023.
Deeply regretted by her daughter Raziyah, son Jason, grandchildren Rhys, Conor, Emmet and their mother Breda, son-in-law Mark, all the staff at The Ballord Lodge, Portlaoise and her many friends.
Rubiya will repose at the Midlands Regional Hospital Mortuary, Portlaoise, from 10:30am on Saturday (11th November) to 11:30am. Funeral Mass will take place in Ss Peter’s and Paul’s Church, Portlaoise, at 12 noon on Saturday and afterwards Rubiya will be laid to rest in Ss Peter’s and Paul’s Cemetery, Portlaoise.

Frank Jackson, River View, Kilbricken, Mountrath, Co. Laois. Died 8th November 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his beloved son Keith, parents, and brothers. Sadly missed by his loving wife Emily, son Nial, daughters Lorna and Olga, grandchildren, sister Olive, daughter-in-law, sons-in-law, niece, nephews, extended family and a large circle of friends.
Reposing at his home (Eircode R32A3F4) on Thursday 9th and Friday 10th November from 4.0’clock until 8.0’clock each evening. Removal on Saturday afternoon to St. Peter’s Church Mountrath (Eircode R32EN81) , for Funeral Service at 2.30p.m., followed by Burial in the adjoining Churchyard.

KING (née Scully) Clare, 7th November 2023, Old Bawn, Tallaght, D.24, formerly of Orchardstown Park, Rathfarnham and Mountmellick, Co. Laois. Peacefully, surrounded by her family in the tender loving care of Millbrook Manor Nursing Home, Saggart.
Beloved wife of the late James (Jim), much loved mother of Terence and Clare. Clare will be forever loved and dearly missed by her son and daughter, son-in-law Rónán, daughter-in-law Liz, her adored grandchildren Oisín & Nikita, Aoife, Áine, Finian, Sailí Áine, Daisy, Caitriona and Amy, her beloved nieces Deirdre, Fiona, Úna, Emer and Maeve, extended family, relatives and her many friends.
Reposing at Massey Bros Funeral Home, Templeogue Village this Friday afternoon from 2pm – 4pm with removal to the Church of St. Martin de Porres, Old Bawn arriving for 5.30pm. Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday morning at 10am with burial thereafter in Mt. Jerome Cemetery.

Rachel Krechnyak (née Moynan)

Rachel passed away peacefully, on 28th October 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospital. Predeceased by her father Edmond. Beloved wife of James and much loved mother of Caleb, Benjamin and Brianna. Rachel will be dearly missed by her husband and children, mother Elizabeth Moynan, daughter-in-law Diana, brothers Ian, Norman, Winston, Philip and Wesley, sister June, parents-in-law Jim and Helen, extended family, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at her home in Coolbaun (R95TC6E) on Friday (10th Nov.) from 4pm to 7pm. House private at all other times. Funeral Service on Saturday afternoon (11th Nov) at 2pm in Kilkenny Presbyterian Church, New Road, Kilkenny. A private cremation Service will follow on Monday.

Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family after a short and unexpected illness , passed away at St Luke’s hospital in Kilkenny.
Predeceased by his twin sister Sr. Shiela and his sister Sr. Mary (Presentation Sisters), his brothers Ned and Tommy. Donal will be sadly missed by his wife Mai and children Thomas, Kathleen, Julie, Patrick and Donie, his brother Johnny his grandchildren Ella and Alfie, son in law Michael, daughters in law Irene and Siobhan, sisters in law Alice and Mary (Toronto), brothers in law Paddy and Tom (Toronto), nieces, nephews, neighbours and a large circle of friends and the wider community of Durrow, including the Legion of Mary of which he was a lifelong member.
Donal will repose at his residence at Capponellan House, Durrow, this Wednesday evening from 3pm to 8pm, concluding with rosary. Funeral prayers on Thursday evening at 6.15pm followed by removal to the Holy Trinity Church, Durrow. Funeral Mass on Friday at 2pm, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of St. Luke’s Hospital and Aut Even Hospital, Kilkenny, for the exceptional care Donal received during his brief time there. Family flowers only, donations, in lieu of flowers, to the Irish Heart Foundation.

Formerly of Whiteswall, Galmoy County Kilkenny. Suddenly at his residence. Predeceased by his parents John and Elizabeth. Sadly missed by his loving partner Bridin, sons Denis and Trevor and their mother Marie, daughters-in-law Danielle and Avril, grandchildren Jordan, Mia and Senan, sisters Mary and Margaret, extended family, neighbours and many friends.

Bridget Maguire (née Mooney) – Strattonstown, Ballinea, Mullingar, Co Westmeath and formerly of Kilbride House, Portarlington, Co Laois – November 5, 2023 (peacefully) in the company of her loving husband and family at Beaumont Hospital, Dublin. Predeceased by her parents Christopher and Mary and her brothers Charlie and Christy. A loving wife, sister, aunt and friend; Bridget will be deeply missed by her heartbroken husband and best friend Tom, her loving sister Betty and brother Johnny, her dear nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, relatives and many friends.
Reposing at Gilsenan’s Funeral Home N91 K660 on Thursday from 4pm, concluding with prayers at 6pm and followed by Removal to the Cathedral of Christ the King arriving at 6.30pm.
Bridget’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11 a.m. followed by cremation at Lakelands Crematorium Cavan H12 RF78. The Mass may be viewed live at www.mullingarparish.ie.
